 DeMile Self-Defense Systems

The Fitness Dojo is proud afflliate and authorized (DeMile Defensive Tactics) DDT  school. DDT  was founded by Sijo  James DeMile . DDT  is a modern self-defense and fitness system based on the science of Bruce Lees concepts for trapping and striking combined with  joint manipulation ,  chokes , escapes, throws , weapon defense, and functional strength  training.Since DSS inception the system has been taught through out  the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

The core of DDT is original JKD concepts and Wing Chun Do (WCD) . WCD is a maritial art system  created by James DeMile based on the totality of his training experience with Bruce Lee ,   Boxing competition and US Special Forces and the processes that led to the creation of original Jeet Kune Do ( JKD ). DDT accelerates the learning  process of Bruce Lee's approach to applied trapping and Chisao integrated with the self-defense applications of Jiu Jitsu , Judo , MMA Fitness training and millitary close quarter combat.

Over the years DDT systems has been utilized by US Special Forces Green Berets ( 1st Group),  SAS, FBI, Seattle Police Dept, New York Nassau Police Dept, Port Clinton Police, Australias Brisbane Police Dept, New Zealand Correctional Institutes,King County Sherrif Dept and Secret Service Personnel, Virgin Airlines and a many other organizations.

DDT was initially developed by James in the 1970's were shortly afters Bruces death the demand to learn Bruces techniques and training methodologies exploded around the world. James was a student Bruces from the what is called the "Seattle Period" where he  trained, sparred, and conceptualized with Bruce for several years.

From 1959 to 1963 Bruce Lee, James DeMile  an undefeated Military Boxing Heavyweight Champion, Jesse Glover a Judo Practitioner, and Ed Hart a grappler fought, trained, and explored the strengths and weaknesses of Wing Chun, Boxing, Judo, Grappling, and the importance of  speed training. They worked on different fight scenarios, reaction speed response, and attack strategies while developing a criteria to determine whether a technique met the standard of practicality, simplicty, and effiency.

It was during this period that the original foundations of Jeet Kune Do (JKD) were being laid . JKD is based on Bruce's philosophy, which  at its core-is an individuals journey to ascertain what techniques worked best for them based body type, athletism, personality, and training time. These factors are reinforced by the  timeless principles of mental discipline, emotional control,  explosive speed and power,  trapping, and centerline control to neutralize an opponents offensive and defensive capabilties . Many of the original JKD principles are evident in MMA training methods and strategies, as well as modern  combatives represented by US Special Forces and in Israels Krav Maga CQC systems.

It was also during the Seattle period Bruce and James spent much time analyzing and the testing different types of striking methods out which came the famous one and three inch power punch. Later James would write the best selling martial arts book called "Bruce Lee's 1 & 3 Inch Power Punch". The power punch  striking technique became an immediate game changer in close quarter combat.
